Help is just a few steps away.

STEP 2 - SELECT SERVICES AND SIGN PATIENT AGREEMENT FORM

After your initial meeting, we’ll be able to offer a range of services tailored to you and your individual needs.

You can view an overview of our services by clicking the link below. These will also be explained in detail during your first meeting, and you’ll be given a leaflet to take away and refer to whenever you need.

Please don’t feel you have to choose everything at once. It can feel overwhelming, and many people prefer to start with just one or two services that address their most immediate needs. You can always ask for additional support later.

Once you’ve decided, you’ll be asked to complete a Service Agreement Form. This will be sent to you by email or WhatsApp after an online meeting, or provided as a paper copy if you meet in person. The form includes clear instructions, and our volunteers are always happy to help if you need support filling it in.

OUR SERVICES

Although most of our support comes from our wonderful volunteers, we also collaborate with charities, companies, and service providers to make sure you get the help you need. Below are some of the services we can offer with the support of our partners.

FINANCIAL HELP

One of the questions we are asked most often is about what benefits are available in Spain. Unfortunately, there is no simple answer. Spain is not a welfare state, so benefits are limited.

If a patient has no entitlement to sick pay, or has exhausted it, there are a few options available. These depend on the patient’s age and previous work history. The best way to find out what support you may be entitled to is to arrange an appointment with your local social worker. They can assess your situation and explain what is available and how to claim it. We are happy to help you make an appointment and provide translation if needed.

Other charities, such as the AECC, sometimes offer financial support. We can act as intermediaries to help coordinate with them, but they usually need to work alongside your social worker, so it’s best to contact them after the appointment with your social worker is arranged.

For UK pensioners, there may also be benefits available from the UK. We can help you connect with Kim Clark, who can advise on what you may be entitled to. You can contact him via his website using the link below.

CLINICAL TRIALS AND TREATMENTS

If you are unhappy with your current treatment, want to explore alternative options, or are interested in learning about clinical trials that may be available to you, we can help. Below you’ll find links to some trusted websites where you can search for ongoing trials and find detailed information.

END OF LIFE PLANNING

If you or a loved one are facing end-of-life, there are often difficult decisions to make. Living in a country where systems and processes may differ from those back home can make this even more challenging, which is why having clear information is so important.

We created the booklet “My Last Wishes” to help guide you through this time and to give you a place to record your decisions, so they can be shared with your loved ones when needed.

We recommend completing this booklet regardless of age or current health. Sadly, we never know what tomorrow may bring.

To request your copy, simply contact us by email or phone, or visit one of our Drop In Centres.

Please note that this booklet is not legally binding. It is intended as a complement to, not a substitute for, a Last Will and Testament and a Living Will (Voluntades Anticipadas), which all residents in Mallorca are strongly encouraged to have in place.

For additional support around end-of-life care, we are privileged to collaborate with Glynis German. You can find more information about the services she offers pressing the link below.
