None of us want to think of our own demise, but however painful and unnatural death is, sadly it is inevitable.

Sometimes we get a chance to prepare for our death, other times it can take us all of a sudden and we can’t even say goodbye to our loved ones.

Because of this it is so important to do everything we can to leave our affairs in order so that those having to organise matters know what our wishes are.

While there are obviously legal documents such as will and a living will that are vital, these don’t cover every aspect and detail of what needs to be done.

For some years now we have had an EOL (End of Life) document available for patients, this was useful to put down in writing their wishes and to ensure that all bases were covered.

But this document was not always enough, so for over two years now we have been putting together a book which could be used to leave a record of all the little things, and big things that will help make it easier for those we leave behind. It includes sections such as who we want to be informed of our death, who we would like to be at our funeral or memorial service, log in information for our social media accounts, etc.

This book was the brainchild of our founder and friend Krista Hyer, she worked alongside Jackie Codd from Age Concern Mallorca to get this project started, it was then taken over by her successor Bronwen and others from the CSG Mallorca team.

We are now proud to present to you My Last Wishes.

The book is available for free to all Cancer Support patients and available to everyone for a small donation. You will be able to find it on our stalls when we take part in different events or you can contact us to arrange a collection.

We hope that this book can help everyone to leave their affairs in order, taking some of the pressure off those who have been left behind.
