Counselling Support
Counselling offers a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space where you can work through your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It can help you gain perspective, find balance, and improve your overall wellbeing during a challenging time.
While counselling can be highly beneficial, it's important to consider whether it's the right fit for your needs. For some people, group-based support like our HELP course or Mosaic of Grief, may offer more connection and shared experience. Counselling also requires a time commitment and regular attendance.
If, after an initial conversation, counselling is considered the most suitable option, we will refer you to an approved counsellor.
What to Expect from Counselling:
- An initial assessment to explore compatibility and define goals
- A clear explanation of the therapy format: phone, video, or in-person
- Confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Consideration of counsellor gender preference where possible
- Typically 6–8 sessions before a progress review
Support for more complex issues (e.g. chronic depression) may require longer-term therapy
We fund up to 12 sessions per client. If further sessions are needed:
- The counsellor may offer a reduced rate for continued care
- In some cases, additional funding may be available
- Clients are also welcome to contribute toward the cost of their sessions if they wish—please contact us to arrange a donation
What We Ask of You:
- Commitment to attend all scheduled sessions
- Missed sessions without prior notice will be charged to you
- More than one missed session may result in cancellation of further free support
- Completion of an anonymous satisfaction survey after your sessions end
